The dry hollow flat wave reactor is used to reduce the harmonic component of the voltage and current in the DC system.

In the case of fault, it can restrain the rising speed of the fault current and limit the value of the short circuit current.

It is often used in high voltage direct current system or in series with large scale rectifier fed DC motor used in iron and steel nonferrous metallurgical enterprises.
